Editorial Review for Guaymas – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
Designed in the '80s, this Mexican restaurant features a pastel "Miami Vice"-like hue. Prime seating is outside on the deck, which has heat lamps, wind guards and a dramatic view across the bay. The focus of the menu is fresh, regional Mexican cuisine. House specialties include grilled seafood and tamales. The basics (rice, beans, margaritas) are also available, and house-made tortillas with salsa are served in lieu of chips.

We had a rough start here as after being sent upstairs by the hostess an 'upstairs hostess' asked if he 'had reservations...I wondered why she would ask us that if we were sent by up by downstairs hostess?? When we said no, she wanted to sit four of us and a 9 month old baby in a small 4-top table. The place was quiet and there were plenty of large tables . We asked for a larger table and she protested and then finally sat us at a 6 person round table. She claimed that 'someone was going to hurt her" for doing it. I guess we were special! After that we did really enjoy the food ( the pork was fantastic) and you cannot beat the view of the water - excellent! The waiter was fine and we had a good meal. Enjoy!

Pros: View, menu items

Cons: Hostess Seating Poor
