Editorial Review for Pakwan – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
This no-frills spot attracts a budget-minded bohemian crowd that can fill the large dining room to capacity. The menu features a mix of traditional Pakistani dishes, such as tandoori-cooked meats, curries and veggie staples. Naan and other breads are homemade and served hot out of the oven throughout the day.

I used to think naan and curry was the best 'fast food' type indian, but this place is blowing me away. I went there a few years ago and wasn't impressed, but I think they streamlined the menu to a select few items now. The saag paneer is simply the BEST i have EVER had. Hands down, compared to tons of eateries both cheap and expensive (and Michelin starred). Haven't had everything on the menu, but solid grub on the fast and cheap. I still think the shrimp biryani at naan and curry is the best because they put the shrimp in the tandoor and give you a ton.

Pros: tasty quick indian

Cons: it's a dingy place, but you're not there for a hot date

Alright so the naan is fabulous and the tikka masala is somewhat tasty in comparison to Pakistan, but overall it is not much. I went yesterday night and the setting makes you think of an undersized bare hallway and the service is hardly worth mentioning. It is easy to see how it is only crowded in prime hours. I was reading some of the reviews, and unfortunately I disagree with one comment that both the two brothers working there are hot. I saw one tall one who was yes, with lighter skin, but that was it. My group of girlfriends at the time had to agree with me. Its good food for the most part.

Pros: naan

Cons: service
